Here's my lefty basses. Up first are my Ernie Balls. It took me a long time to be able to own one of these and I am so lucky to have been able to find 4 that are just incredible instruments. The Trans Orange SR5 is still my number one bass. It just plays itself in my hands!

Here is my 2001 fretless Carvin LB75P. Its quite a machine and was a really sweet find on the used market.

This is my 2006 Diamond Anniversary USA Fender P-bass. I bought it last year for an amazing deal as it was "New Old Stock" that was still sitting around at a local dealer. I love this bass and have a set of Chromes on her right now that really sound good. Bit of a collectible bass with the custom case.

This is my 2008 USA Standard Jazz bought new in early 2008. First USA build Fender Jazz available left handed in 25 years! Only came in sunburst or black for us lefties. I really like this bass as its light, toneful and growly. It plays perfectly and was a great deal for $1050 brand new before the prices went up.

And finally my only non stock bass. A 2004 MIM jazz converted to fretless with a custom torte pickguard, BadassII bridge and Dimarzio Model J pickups. Its a growly monster and I really like playing it. Cost a lot to upgrade but it was fun to hotrodded an already decent bass and male it my own.

So eight good quality basses so far. I certainly can't complain as these are fine instruments in some great colors. Even the black Stingray really looks classy to me with the maple board.

With regards to playing lefty, i was told that what ever felt natural was the best way for you, i tried just holding a right handed bass and it just felt....wrong!

I now tell people that however you would play air guitar is the way your more likely to play bass/guitar.

Yeah, in a way it is. But then again................the pic doesnt do it justice. Live in the flesh it looks like the meanest road warrior ever to survive a nuclear blast.

I got that bass new for a high school graduation gift in '78. It was blinding white. It was my only bass for 7-8 years and I was on the road non stop from '81 on playing 4 sets a night, 5 days a week. It got played HARD!

Currently its on its 3rd set of frets, who knows how many bridges and pickups have been on it/thru it.

I still have the original pups but they died years ago. The only original parts left are 3 tuning keys, the input jack plate, the nut, the knobs, and whats left of the paint.

But I love this bass. Every scar, nick, ding, and bump was put on it by me. Live. I would NEVER sell it. The back of it is even worse (or better)......not much paint left on the neck. An "honest" relic.

It is also louder than any bass I own. I think that 16oz hipshot bridge had something to do with that. And those humbuckers really kick a$$ and give it some "zing".
It is strung BEAD and plays really well.

Here is pic of it from '80 or '81. I dont remember what head im using but the cabs are a MusicMan 1x15 on top of a MusicMan 1x18. Dig that coil cord!

Sincere apologies to all.

I have been having a mare of a week with my CPU so used my bonus to buy a shiney new windows 7 jobby!! Any way i digress!

Here are my basses. Alas there arent as awesome as some peoples here due to money limitiations but as a reward (well i think so) for being so patient i put a pic of my amp here too

So first up is my first ever bass. Its a tanglewood nevada. I paid for this weekly for 4 months at the first music shop i ever walked into. He ordered it in for me specially and let me go in an play it. I just couldnt take it until i paid.

Next up is my Peavey Milestone III. I bought this as i was fed of playing a violin sunburst colour guitar and the action was awesome. As you can tell but the stickers this was my punk phase and i still love it like that!

And lastly my new (well 3 years) Dean Edgehammer. I bought this when i wasnt in a band put after picking it up it plays so wonderfully, sounds awesome and is deep blood red! I just fell in love with it. I bought it right then! (Thank god it was pay day!!!)

And just because i love it this is my R4H bass head, R410 4x10 and, R115 1x10
