Legion SSB-212L Cabinet Review

After all this time has passed, I wanted to visit this again to see if any of the original postersstill have their LS2-12 cabinets and how are they holding up? I refurbed both my cabinets with new metal jackplates, T nut for the speakers, casters for one, and added egg crate foam for dampening material.

At this point I have found my tone. I couldn't be happier with these cabinets. One handles rehearsals and small clubs, 2 is pants flapping zone. ;)

I still have both of mine, still my main 'go-to' cabs when I need to be loud. I went through a phase where I took the tweeters out for a few years, then replaced them a bit later. One tweeter eventually burned out so decided to replace both. I found a recipe on here with info on swapping tweeters out with a mid range (6.5" Eminence drivers, not sure of the part # now and not inclined to take apart a cabinet). Had to do a bit of jig saw work to the baffle but all worked out fine.


Re: broken jack. I broke one of mine as well a number of years ago, a couldn't find anything that was a drop in replacement (tbh didn't look very hard tho :)). Went to Home Depot and got a galvanized steel sheet (aluminum not rigid enough). Cut to size, drilled and installed jacks, rewired, etc works fine. I initially mounted the plate to the outside of the cabinet (for convenience sake) but after numerous scratches to my car during loading, later mounted the plate on the inside.
