Legit / Older Avatar B210?

Greetings all,

I recently put some money down on an Avatar 2x10 advertised through Guitar Centers used gear section online.

While there weren't any details on the site, I called and asked if he could provide the information on the input jack. He came back stating that there is nothing on it. He happily snapped some pics and emailed them to me within the hour.

The only thing that tells me that this is an Avatar cab is that the badge is on the front. I checked the catalog and scoured pictures online and came up with nothing like this... Please advise / comment if you have information on this one. Thanks!

It looks quite similar to one that I used to own, including the unlabelled jackplate.

It's missing the grille and the impedance is normally indicated on the input jack out back. Don't see that either. It looks pretty beat up to me. I own one and it's a pretty nice little cab.

Is that OSB? Is that jackplate "inside" the cab?

That looks more "Steel Sound" or Legion to me......but I could be wrong.

Suspicious, I thought Avatar only used plywood.

sure they did .. all the little cubes were rear ported ... [email protected] with the pics and any questions are answered ... Dave had a variety of configurations over the years, and some of his 'prototypes' didn't make it to production, so this may be something like that .. there is no way to know everything Dave has tried, but they dont get any better to deal with then Dave, he can tell you from the pics you send him, and if he would have used those components, etc

Yeah, I had one his old 1X18 compact cubes, and even some of his PA cabs from back when he first started, so I guess it is possible.

Just did not remember any of his "regular" loaded cabs being rear ported

Yep! Needless to say, I found one much newer and in far better condition for the same price, and pulled the trigger. Thank you all for the input. Especially tjh for the advise to email the man himself.
