Some people don't like these but I really love D'addario ProSteels on my LEJ 5/24. They are clear, articulate, bright, even, consistent and bring out the sizzle of the bass. The regular D'addarios XL are pretty good too but my fave is the ProSteels. BTW, congrats on the slammin' bass. I really love the black on black, even though mine is white on white;-)

I saw the picture of yours, love that maple board! Thanks for the string advice.

Thanks man, I really love it. I can pretty much cover anything with that bass. BTW, if you find another string you like, let us know. Some guys really dig the DR Fat Beams. In my experience, the ProSteels were more consistent and lasted longer. I guess, I'm still looking too but haven't found anything better than the ProSteels, IMHO.

in re: strings.

My 1st 6'er has aging Webstring nickels. People may laugh, and Brian may cringe, but I ain't got a problem over lots of Webstring sets the past few years. They don't have 6-string stainless unfortunately. Lots of gigs on these stings now, so they can get thuddy for old-school stuff but still ring bright for chords/solos with some treble boost.

My 2nd 6'er rocks the stock SIT stainless, and I bought a few more sets of those from Brian when I found out how economical they are.

Y'all seen this? http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=479213 The LEJ is almost in the lead. It'd be interesting to read in-depth what such a talented player has to say of the LEJ vs. all those other fine instruments.
