I was enjoying Neil Sedaka's 1969 album Workin' on a Groovy Thing today, really digging among other things the bass paying and bass guitar sound. I looked up the album online and apparently it was recorded in Australia and featured a bunch of top Australian session musicians. On Wikipedia at least, the bass was credited to "Len Hutchingson." At first I had no luck whatsoever in trying to find more info about who he is/was, what other things he might have played on, etc. So then I tried under the name "Len Hutchinson" without the 'g' and discovered that Wikipedia had the name misspelled; Lennie Hutchinson was a New Zealand guitarist of Maori descent who moved to Australia in the early 1960s. Looks like he passed away June 6, 2020. Is anyone else familiar with him, or any other works he might have played bass on?
