Anybody know what brand of bass Less is playing here?
I am interested too, you may be able to get a better look at it here:
It's a Michael Kelly Bayou model.
Check eBay- I think their's a few on right now
Time for a gratitutious, egotistical, totally self -indulgent plug (at least I'm honest!). I have been building Resonator basses for almost 10 years here in the good old USA (www.moonshineguitars.com).
As for the Michael Kelly bass, I think they look really nice and Les sure makes it sound great.
Interesting instrument... I wonder what one would sound like in the hands of one of us mere mortals.
That SeaFoam Green Moonshine is drop-dead sexy!
Many Thanks, I really appreciate it....More to come. I'm getting married this Saturday(WOW,did I really just say that!) and will be moving my shop over the summer, but plan to be in full production again by August. I have a couple of new models that I'm finishing the protoypes up on now.
There's a very very rare long-scale Dobro resonator bass on the bay right now:
(not my auction)
That was Les Claypool
I could have sworn it was Acker Bilk ...
+1 for the best celebrity look-alike ever!!
i know i'm later than a very late thing posting on this thread but i just joined up to talk bass again after 5 years away.. wanted to show off what i've been playing around on in that time
Tim Kill Custom - He's the nicest guy you'll ever meet and man he does some crazy awesome work
... also does anyone know what pick up Claypool has had put in his reso, i've got an actual resonator pick up on the speaker cone .. man it feeds back when i crank the volume
