Yep, I realized my error now. I was confusing you with Brother Dave, whose website I have been frequenting alot lately trying to get mine in gig ready condition. I did just purchase a Leo Quan Badass III that I was fortunate enough to find for sale, because I want to continue the strings thru the body and I'm fussy about my intonation, which is somewhat lackluster with the stock bridge. Anyone else make this mod, or other bridge mods? Still undecided on the pickup; I'll re-evaluate after I install the BAIII. Thanks again for the info.

As I mentioned earlier, I bought a Fender American Deluxe four-saddle bridge from an online vendor. It was an exact drop-in: the screw holes and the string holes lined up perfectly on the '51 body. I don't think Fender currently makes a bass with the string-through feature, but I'll bet you can find this model bridge online.

I wanted to stay with the low-mass bridge, having heard people on TB say that a high-mass bridge compromised the original sound. I have no experience with any but the standard Fender bridge, so I have no personal experience.

I enjoy Brother Dave's postings on the Fender forum, and thank you for thinking I was him.:D He is a lot more knowledgeable about Fender basses than I am -- my experience comes from changing out one bridge and a couple of pickups.

Many like it, but this one's mine... Squier CV with a custom parchment / black / parchment pickguard, pickup cover and a Quarter Pounder. Strung with an old set of Rotosound flats (that sat barely used on a friend's P-bass for about 6 years). It took awhile to get used to the thicker neck, but I like it - seems like it cuts through more than a standard split coil P, and I love the Tele-style headstock.

LOL - well I have to admit I don't play the blue one very often. Usually its when we have a hippie fest flower power love in type gig with tie dyed tee shirts and all the other trappings. I really only bought it because I wanted the matching set.

Let's bring back some life here...

These two accompanied me for a while (the sunburst one over a decade being my main bass for a long time). The black one is a CS51 Journeyman relic, the Burst is from the MIJ series.
However I did not felt too comfy with the slab bodies anymore so I sold them both.

However my love for P-Basses is still extremely strong and the need of a single coil P is real for sure - so I had to get myself another (countoured) one which I'm going to show once I took some pictures of it.
