Lets Buy A Wish Part II

Thanks. I tried to be as fair as I could on my review.

If the weather gods smile on me, I'll fly it up to the Dallas krewe next Saturday. Intellicast looks good on this end, but T-storms on their end. I should know more by mid-week if this is feasible, or if I should just put it back in the box and ship it. I'd plan on a noon-ish arrival at Addison if I do fly it. If I can't fly it, who should I send it to next? I know at least 3 TBers on the list, I' think I'd like it to go to the most central, for scheduling purposes. Let me know, so I can have a shipping tag just in case. It would be good to meet some of y'all! :D

Well if you fly in, Im only 5 minutes from Addison Airport and could pick you up. As far as shipping your welcome to send it to me if you like, and Ill arrange a gathering of Dallas folks involved. If someone else needs it sooner, or if it should go out to Freakbass since he offered to host a little party, thats perfectly cool with me too.

Hey man, you don't suck, you finally got it on its way, which was all anybody really wanted- well, that and some communication. You still need to post your review, as per the rules! So, what did you think of the mighty Wish?

Also, if someone gets it and gets really sick or something, and needs to keep it an extra couple days, I move that said person needs to ask the rest of us if that is OK. Sound fair? I don't want it to stop making its journey, but if something does come up, nobody should go incognito. Just tell the rest of us what's up. I think we're all good enough people to realize that things do happen. Just get it on its way as soon as possible. Who's down with that?

Sorry I suck guys .

You don't suck. Life kicks us all in the butt from time to time. My wife lost her job and her unemployment ran out, so I am hurting pretty bad myself. But some communication would have been nice. Here's hoping things start to look up for you.

Oh, and I believe that you owe us a review.:)

Don't be- it'll get there. I hope without further delay...it is a cool bass, and it does have tons of, um, character?...I was actually impressed at its tone. Tons of mwah! I'm trying to tweak my fretless jazz I built to have that, just haven't had enough time. It'll get there though.

Interesting thread. Glad you are checking one of them out. I bought 1 3 years ago "in white" I had him build it for me. 32" scale Ebony board. It came with the metal pickup surround and no body contours. I couldn't resist playing with it so I spent a few weeks contouring it and I bought some Ebony and made a pickup surround for it and a control plate cover. I then gave it front and back contours, put a tru-oil finish on it and played it. See photo. I had agood time with it but could not get happy with it sitting down and I had caught the bass building "bug" so it went up on e-bay. I sold it for asmall profit and started building my own basses. So in part I have Steve to blame for my spare bedroom being filled with wood. :hyper: If it comes to Central Fl. I got $10. What scale is it? I must have missed that....t

I think my shipping place is open Saturdays, so I'm shipping it to Juneau. I got hammered by pharyngitis earlier this week, got over that, then just as I was starting to feel better, BAM! I got hit with a severe cold, so no flying this weekend  . Anyway, I enjoyed it, the limited time I had it, and I'm sorry that I won't get to meet up with y'all this weekend, but I'll get up that way later on this spring, we'll hook up then. Just wanted to let everyone know it's on the move again...

I'll post again when its arrived at my work, should be good for a next Saturday GTG. Since you offered first Freakbass, give us some directions to your place for the party!

Maybe we can get a few folks there. Who all payed thats in Dallas btw? Embellisher you and I? Who else? I dont need it for any length of time really so after Saturday it will go with one of the folks that also payed and a donation for shipping costs to the next person will go along with it.

Then you guys can decide how to spread it around till it needs to move on :)

It has arrived!! And let me tell you, its every bit as poor a quality as said before hehe. It does sound ok I thought, but nothing spectacular. Its got muwha for sure, but is a little too thin and nasally sounding to me personally. Doesnt seem to have much bottom end at all.

The pup routing, nails for sidemarkers in the wrong place, not flush control cover (and ugly to boot), and bad finish are as everyone said before me. Deffinantly a bass to get unfinished and do the final steps yourself.

Unfortunantly, only got to play about 15 minutes at lunch, but will check it out more in the next few days before the mini gtg.
