Aye, the Sentell Unmudbucker is a winner indeed. I love mine - even right up against the neck it has amazing clarity!

I would go with three pickups. My eyes were opened to the amazing tonal range that three pickups can provide when I built my 4004CTM. Other variations on that theme that have captured my imagination:
  • Three Strat-sized rail pickups, a la the Gibson G3 (Wilde L45s would kill here)
  • J against the fretboard, J in the middle, and a reverse P at the bridge
  • T40 at the bridge (splittable), Lace BassBar in the middle, and a snarly guitar P90 against the fretboard
Master volume, optional master tone (I never use mine), and a Freeway Switch for all six single/double combinations. Fantastic versatility with passive simplicity!

I only meant redundant in that I have a P and a J so the PJ is somewhat superfluous... It's similar enough that it's too similar. ;)

I like the idea of Wilde rail pickups (used the old 500 humbucker in an old bass in the P position -very nice). Also, the Freeway Switch!

I would love to take my mahogany Ibanez SR and magically transform the pickup routes to fit a pair of G&L L2000 humbuckers. outer coils/series/inner coils switch and an OMG mode switch, with the current preamp. Love the sound of an L2000 with flats, but never could get with the neck width or weight.

My white jazz bass is a 90's mexican-made, with a badass bridge, seymour-duncan antiquity ii pickups, and some old rotosound swing 66 roundwounds

I have heard before that it's a MIM, So theres that...

I've always had this cool idea of a custom rickenbacker bass,

But it would just be one single pickup, in the middle of the body, like a p bass or stingray. Not sure on the pickup, but maybe a rickenbacker single coil or telecaster bass single coil would suit nicely.

Hi mass bridge, like a Badass or Omega.

Passive EQ. Just a single fender jazz bass concentric knob for volume/tone and that's it.

Maple neck and fingerboard, black dot inlays, no binding, matching headstock.

it would be finished in nitrocellulose. Olympic white, sonic blue, shell pink or Inca silver. Any of those would look great relic! No pickgaurd, no binding on the body.

5 string option available. Left hand option available. 5 string left hand option also available.

WHO CAN MAKE THIS A REALITY? I WANNA SEE IT HAPPEN!
