Nice thread! I think I can use this on my wife. Here's Plan A:

Me: "Honey, look at all the basses these guys own, and I've only got two!" :bawl:

Her: "Yeah, and how many can you play at one time ..." :eyebrow:

Me: "Well, how many pairs of shoes can you wear at one time? How many do you own? Maybe twenty pair?" :confused:

Her: "Yeah, but a bass costs a lot more than a pair of shoes." :rollno:

Me: "Not really. How much did those Gucci's cost you - $200?" :confused:

Her: "Around $200. Your point?" :confused:

Me: "Check this out." (I go to the Rondo Music website and show her an SX bass). "How about this one - it's only $150?". :smug:

Her: "OK, go ahead and get it." :rolleyes:

Me: (I order the bass I've been GASing for - a Geddy Lee Jazz :)). Price: $999.00 :eek:)

Five days later bass arrives. Daddy is in HEAVEN! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Ten days later credit card statement arrives. Daddy is sleeping on the couch. :atoz:

Dang! On to plan B ... :hmm:

Later results in you sleeping on the streets, selling all your basses, and being single again! Kidding! ;)

Geez, some impressive gear lists here!!

I have:

Basses
Sei Offset Flamboyant 7 string www.seibass.com
Conklin Groove Tools 7 string (de-fretted and ramped)
Dean Rhapsody 12 string (just got it yesterday !)
James Tyler 4 string (yup, a Tyler bass)
Jackson 'Kip Winger' 4 string (I had this for an age. Great bass)
Yamaha BB fretless (don't ask me the model number)
Bas Nederland "Kinderbasje' 1 string bass (sounds great as well)

ACG 9 string on the way (link in sig)

Electric Guitars
Jackson PC1 (one of the older koa ones)
Charvel 475 Ltd Edition Platinum Crackle (only 50 came to the UK)
Peavey Rockingham (big semi)
Copy of a Fender Telecaster

Acoustic Guitars
Taylor GS (just an amazing instrument. Wife bought it in the USA for me)
K. Yairi DY88BK 12 string (no soundhole acoustic)
Ovation USA Elite 12 string (brought back from honeymoon)
Takamine EF261S (had for an age)

Other stuff
Koa ukulele (also from honeymoon. My wife wanted me to get a Spongebob Squarepants one)
1930 banjo ukulele (was my Grandad's)
Yamaha SY55 keyboard (I hate keyboards, a necessary evil at times)
Presonus Firebox & Cubase 4 Essentials
Trace Boxer 15 amp
ART SGX Nightbass (and the huge X-15 foot controller)
TC Helicon Voice Prism
AKG and Blue Mics
Custom-made mic stand (in purple, of course)

Used to have a lot more, but have pared down the inventory to the following (pics are hard since the gear is 'scattered' between my house and the practice spot)...

Basses:
* Alleva-Coppolo KBP-5
* Sadowsky NYC M24-5
* Rob Allen Mouse 30
* (soon to come) Alleva-Coppolo LG-5

Amps:
* G-K MB2-500
* Markbass LMII

Cabs:
* Schroeder Mini 12L (8-ohm)
* Schroeder Mini 12+L (8-ohm)

Effects:
* BBE Opto Stomp
* Tech21 VT Bass
* Zoom B2.1u

I'm *very* comfortable with this setup. :bassist:

Interesting to see all the gear that some of you folks have got.

I consider myself extravagent with 3 basses (plus and ABG) and a single amp and cabinet.

Guess I need to redefine "extravagant"... :D
