I like quite a few different Dean basses
They’re Korean made in the ‘World’ factory for Dean
I believe these are similar to Korean made Squier’s though I’ve never had the opportunity to play one side by side.
22 fret neck. 1.65” at nut and 3/4” thick at first fret. Thin satin finish on neck which for me makes a nice fast neck.

7 ply maple/wenge neck through body construction, with maple wings.
Active Prestige brand pickups, Grover tuners, and a unique Prestige bridge.
Electronics are active with a push/pull volume dial.
Blend dial that blends the signal between the 2 pickups.
3-band EQ is only in use in Active mode, and controls Treble, mids, and Highs.
26 frets!
Plays in Passive mode too but with no tone control.
Sounds awesome with a nice growl in Passive and Active mode. Not too crunchy. Feels a little on the heavy side, but I have not weighed it yet.

at random from last year, there are some more black, in the bowels lurks my trusty ol' Toby, up front is another light-heaveyweight in the hard punching LTD B-50, and at right is the Jazz Bass of all Jazz Basses... a Japan issue Fender Power Jazz Bass Special. even the P PU on mine is more Jazzy, both of those two were seriously played to death by the previous owners and still have many miles left in them. got a black YAMAHA A-2 stashed away, who knows what else lol
swapped in a vintage brass bridge, that tamed the excess brilliance on the Fender

as the month rolled by I strangely had big GAS for this very model and when payday hit it virtually jumped into my arms right off the rack of my favorite thrift store for $300. beat up ones were going for at least $600. amazingly, with all the wear n tear and outright damage on this body, the most damage-prone headstock veneer ever somehow remained virtually mint. the graphite matting must not have been a favorable move on the face of these cos many examples are all messed up, for me a clean headstock was of paramount importance (but impossible to ask for) and yet it couldn't have been more perfect. I dig the character scars on the body, but the neck and main work areas are in good order, it was somebody's workhorse and then somehow was meant to be mine, just as ordered. I barely had enuf to cover the tax lol my B-50 has a very similar tale, same store too.
Just picked up this Player P-Bass last week. Had a white pick guard which I was quick to replace.
Just wanted to add my "Black Beauties" to this thread. The one on the right was already posted here when it arrived, the one on the left has been with me for over a month now.
It is a Squier fretless neck. I bought without the logo. A previous owner sanded it off. It was a great price and I like the ebonol fretboard.
Thanks. Black with maple is a great look. But since this is fretless I prefer a ebony fretboard but this was close enough with the ebonol.
The switches control (from top to bottom) This, That, and The Other Thing. Knobs are just for show
