I think my 80’s Jazz Bass Special qualifies as a work horse.
 
One of my favs too. And a true example of a workhorse.

Love the basses and the amp/cab. I have a bassman, I use in the practice room, but I've thought about upgrading the speakers for live use. What did you use for this, and are you satisfied with the result?

I have three that I use depending on the song.

MIA Jazz Deluxe, modified by removing the Fender electronics and setting it up passive with Lindy Fralin pickups, over wound 8% to get slightly more mids and lows. Also changed the black pickguard to white pearl.
