Let's see those Work Horse Basses!

My MIJ Jag Deluxe

My workhorse. Clement #400. My Nordstrand powered PJ that feels and sounds as great as it looks. About 75% of the time I run it passive, blended 100% P. It slays any other Precision bass I have tried. And with the Noddy 3 band preamp and passive tone it gets sooo many tones. I can drop the E to D. It's a No-brainer at 7.3 pounds, perfect contours and finish, and perfect balance. It takes flats very well too!

The ONLY thing it doesn't do is a pure jazz bass tone. I just got a Sire 5 string for those duties and the lower 3 extra notes when needed, but this will remain my main workhorse.View attachment 2918636

It' a beauty!

I'e been meaning to email Tom and ask if he could add a p to mine. Maybe a single coil. Then it would be the true do all

If it was a few years ago, I would have said my '74 Rick.

Any situation, be it a charity gig in the High School, a high-class wedding or just a simple pub/bar gig she got the pick of the lot.
Recently I must admit I have retired her from active service and enjoy her as a "treat" bass from time to time (mostly house use) and have become absolutely smitten with my modified Squier P.

"Diamond in the rough" '15 affinity P
Gold wilkinson hardware
Red tort guard
Black matching headstock
Dimarzio Will Power pickup.
Loads of other mods I tend to forget.
She's been my go-to rehearsal, practice and "noodle" bass for the past few months, and I'm not ashamed to say it's my favourite P I've ever owned/tried. I love it.

I have a few, based on the style of music I'm playing. Of course my sig pic jazz is my uber favorite recording bass. I didn't add it because it's already posted. These are my main players, the ones I'll never sell or be able to replace. They are tone Gods.

Here it's my ESP C305 neck through. Not made any longer, but a great tone and playability in a 35" package.

My Trusty Spector fiver did a lot of heavy lifting touring for me.

Here it's hanging out in the studio during a recording session.

Playing rock I never hesitate to grab my old p bass. It's raw, unrefined, and all scarred up. Kinda like me.

My 1996 black label P. In its hot rodded state, it's my favorite sounding and playing precision of all time.
