I did a search and could find any threads dedicated to this.

Share your band's logo and tell us how you use it. Did a band member design it? A friend of a friend? Let us know.

And what do you guys think of the old trope "Never date a musician in a band with a logo?"

Ours was designed by our artist friend. It's got a southern feel to it and looks killer. Here it is in various contexts.

It was modified slightly for our last cd:

Thanks. We put it on everything. Koozies, stickers, and in a few variations on t-shirts. It worked well. I've seen the logo all over the place in the wild.

Cool stuff. I like the shot glass! And the "Perry County Scumbag Metal." One band I played in, we use to promote ourselves variously as "Jazz Funk for Drunks," "Stoner Jazz" and "Jazz Funk for Degenerates."

This is ours from our Blondie tribute band. I designed it using a half dozen programs. If I knew how to properly use GIMP I could probably have done it with two, but oh well.

I need to do some work to get it down to two colors, but I'm pretty happy with it. We finally got our set together so now we're working on marketing, we don't have this on any merch yet.

Thanks man. Those actually didn't sell as well as we thought. We gave a lot of them away instead.

We did the shot glass thing too. Couldn't move them at our merch table. One of the clubs we played helped us out by coming up with a "signature band shot" for the weekend and selling them in our "souvenir" shot glass. We gave all of the glasses to the club to put behind the bar and pushed the hell out of the drink special on stage. It was a $5 shot, we got $2 and the club $3. IIRC the glasses cost us ~$.35 each for two hundred. Everybody was happy and the club sold all of our glasses in two nights. If you have a good relationship with a particular club it might be worth a shot. ;)

My Band's name was Elsewhere. The red letters on grey background is the main logo. I also included a T-Shirt stencil design I created along with a "slogan" or saying concept. I do most of our designs, posters, and flyers. We used this stuff on our drummer's kit, facebook, a couple other sites, and for some shirts. We never really pushed into the branding or merch side of it though.

We got the glasses free, oddly enough. 200 of them I think. We approached a club here about doing the same thing but couldn't get the details worked out.

I know some clubs might have a problem with it. Luckily the club manager approached us with the idea when he found out they weren't selling. We would have been happy to use them for BB gun targets at that point.

I'm a graphic designer by day, so I handle all of the artwork, promo, website, etc. for my band. For the backdrop banner, I used to have a wide format banner printer at work. The company decided to get rid of it, so I was able to print a couple banners with the remaining supplies.

This is our current logo.. turned out that our prior one was copyrighted.. we did not know and dropped it when we found out. It's on the kick drum too - we have a pic up on FB, but I can't get to it from work.. will try and get that at home tonight.

Designed and constructed by our drummer.
