Ha, I use those Gator Grips too. Same gauge and everything, although I found I like the .71's a lot, too.
Now, I'm stuck on Dava's, Primetones, and Fender "Wavelength" picks. All a little different, but all are just lovely...
Edit: I bet that double P Gibson sounds massive

Yeah, I’ve been trying a bunch of different picks lately.
It’s actually not a Gibson, which is why I felt comfortable messing with it. It started out as an Epiphone custom shop Ripper PJ. I made a new pickguard, routed the body, swapped out the bridge for a Hipshot A style, added the rotary switch and the double P pickups. If I were able to afford a real Gibson Ripper I wouldn’t want to mess with it. But yes, it does sound massive. It’s got two sets of Model P’s.

They're NZ Paua blue pearl block inlays. Sourced in New Zealand, flattened in Japan and then shipped to the luthier.
A total, ridiculous indulgence, but I'd been left some money and wanted a really special bass to remember the person by. The bass itself is a custom built Overwater J. I visited the wood store before it was built and have some offcuts!
It's a fantastic instrument to play and getting better every year.

I've had this '98 for a bit more than three years now. Nothing can touch it, that I've ever played. Fab neck, for sure.

Active with Dean J style pups which are on the hot side. Trans Black. Neck is really nice, no sharp ends, narrow, thin and satin back. Nice and fast. Gotta get me a Tort PG

After some unfruitful talkbass searches I have started a thread. I love maple fretboards, don't know why but whenever I see one I feel instant attraction. So lets see you maple boarded basses!
Maybe a club, but that's just unnecessary effort just to look at pictures.
Ps. My long term partner is a blonde.
Well, I'm glad you like them. Me? They're... nice; but to be honest, I don't have much preference in fret/fingerboard material. As long as it holds the frets securely, and I don't get splinters from it when I play, I'm happy with it. Out of, oh, roughly 36 stringed instruments (most of them basses), I only have two with maple 'boards;
this '78 "A" necked Fender Precision, and this 30" scale Warmoth Mini - P. And, the only reason the Warmoth has a maple 'board is that 1) I wanted it to be a short scale clone of my Fender; and 2) the maple 'board was the standard (and least expensive) option. But, it is nice...
