Good call. So far I've only been using the big rubber sledgehammer for setting witness points..

To pull off a pull-off, simply pull off the strings.You don't need a hammer for pull-offs. In fact you don't need a bass at all!

Short of using my bass as deadly force, grabbing one of the drummer's sticks and applying just a bit of force, with the pointed end, between the offending band member's trachea and carotid artery is a very effective argument ending device. I don't use rubbers, I play unprotected with hard maple hammers, or cast-iron hammers if I'm playing with my dark metal band – "The Devil's Dulcimers".
