Let's spread some musical misinformation

This is true. But did you know that by humming whilst doing this, brass players can also reproduce the third (always a major third, for some unknown acoustic reason, probably having to do with the length of tube being blown through) AND a seventh, which can be manipulated to be either M7 or min7 by scrunching up the corners of the mouth. :woot:

:hyper::hyper:

Brass sections are thus only required for sad songs with minor chords in, but the musicians union insists on a full section anyway for all soul music, happy or sad.

Ned's Atomic Dustbin and a few other bands of the early 1990s featured two bassists. This was due to bassists having to relocate from other bands from which they had been usurped by synth bass. A government programme of also requiring bassists in other situations, to boost bassist employment, led to Penn of Penn and Teller having to play bass at the end of shows.

Humming is rather risky, as the almighty BROWN NOTE could be hit.

This may open up a discussion of pedal tones, the fundamental below the "note" being played on said brass horn. This only works for the first harmonic, and when attempted on, for instance, a tuba, the almighty BROWN NOTE can actually create an involuntary sympathetic response in listeners (live situations only). Beware! :laugh:

Those people also pay for a music teacher, tort pickguards and new strings.
Quite correct. The only two things that can make you sound better. A boutique bass that costs more than $10k (any cheaper than that will not have a noticeable effect on tone), and boutique pedals. Everything else is a scam intended to move money from your pocket to someone else's.

The song " Smoke On The Water " was actually originally titled "Spokes On A Warner".

All the members of Deep Purple were crazy about bicycling and loved the Stewart-Warner Floating Hub.

Ian Gillan originally wrote 'Tour De France' for Kraftwerk after they went on a cycling holiday together in the Massif Central in 1977. Kraftwerk did change the soaring vocal line somewhat, to match the vocal talents of its members after Gillan declined to join the band.

In the USA you may know Kraftwerk better under its US name of Hobby Lobby.
