Let's spread some musical misinformation

So you think temperature affects the tuning of stringed instruments? That's not true. In fact tuning forks, electronic tuning devices and even our hearing are affected by temperature.

Indeed, when the temperature gets over 100F human hearing is so affected that the banjo sounds good. This is why you see few banjos in the UK as I recall only one day that hot. Sales did double that year, to two banjos, comprising the usual one sold for Cajun themed restaurant decoration, and one bought on the very hot day to play. Billy Connolly owned a banjo in Scotland, but to be fair he had a fever that day.

Most people don't know this, but the Fender bass was originally patented by Clarence Fender.
Leo was just a glory hog that horned in on his brothers success and passed the invention off as his own.
You can see Clarence's patent here...

As as an aside, patents were invented by Henry VIII during negotiations with the King of France at the so-called Field of Cloth of Gold, a city of very expensive tents. This tradition continued in a form of Renaissance Dragon's Den (a.k.a Shark Tank), held in the same tent pitched in Regent's Park. During proceedings people would plead with Henry for intellectual property protection whilst Wolsey sold seats to watch the proceedings, hence it was a "pay tent", and the name stuck.

"Gadzooks, master Fender, what is this bass lute of which you speak? Pray accompany me with it on this rendition of Greensleeves whilst Sir John of Coltrane doth bloweth his shawm and improvise thereupon" he said to one of Clarence Fender"s ancestors. Then they all went down the Flax Club to party with Keith, son of Richard of Stone, and privateer to the King.

P.S. the tent, famous for the Greensleeves jam, later became known as the Marquee, where, in the 18th century, a youngish Ian Anderson used to play after a hard day of inventing seed drills. This was a more successful invention than the claghorn, an attempt to update the shawm for 18th century hipsters, being essentially a shawm with part of a seed drill on the end. The barrowphonium and hoejo were even less successful.

We all know the problem with most bass pickups is that the magnets are simply too small for great tone.

Learn to wind your own pickups and drop these puppies in. Easy to order.

Legendary arena-rock sound.

Plus, once mounted, those magnets will completely eliminate any neck dive.
