Let's spread some musical misinformation

In other news, after Brexit, the playing of folk music from other European countries for fun will be banned, but it is not anticipated anyone will notice. It will still be allowed at world music festivals, as there such folk music is just used to demonstrate how primitive other European countries are, and noone is there to enjoy themselves anyway, just marvel at how other nations must be very sorry they aren't all British, as their music is so terrible compared to traditional British sea shanties and morris dancing.

Of course, post Brexit, only English language music will be allowed to be played in Britain.

Rumours have surfaced in the UK that if Jacob Rees-Mogg becomes prime minister (he is currently Minister for the 1920s), then modern pop music will be banned. In a sop to older voters, allowed music will include music up to the point that Buddy Holly died, and for younger ones Orkestra Obsolete () will be allowed to play versions of material up to 1999. I advise you to sell your electric bass now, and buy a theremin.

Unfortunately the hoped-for ban on ukelele orchestras has not materialised.

How about banning the kazoo?

How about banning the kazoo?

It was used in a Goons episode, and thus has a protected status as Prince Charles likes the Goons and so banning the kazoo would ultimately cause a constitutional crisis in the UK, and by a knock-on effect, the end of the world. It's also why the harmonica cannot be banned as 10% of the Goons shows was actually Max Geldray playing one*

* How I remember this rubbish I don't know.

We have all seen those band family trees and aware of those connections, such as Dave Pegg having been in a band with Robert Plant, as well as with the father of the Campbell brothers from UB40, etc. This means if you cannot trace back to Dave Pegg in under six hops then you will never make it.
