Let's spread some musical misinformation

They (Chicago) once opened for the Stones.
I read that Mick and Keif first wanted to name the band The Rockin' Stones but Brian, Charlie and Bill thought that was a pisser of a name and threatened to walk.

Mick got upset and shouted " Just pack your gear and get rolling on out of here".

Keif had one of the few non-drug induced epiphanies of his life and said "Since we're all rolling about, we should be the The Rolling band".

Mick replied "I think you're still stoned from last night."

Keif said"Yeah, I'm rolling stoned. We should be the Rolling Stoned."

Keif was mumbling so badly that Mick thought he said The Rolling Stones.

And the rest is history.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I had heard that the 'Stones original drummer was Ross McLochness. His name was shortened to Ross M, and Keif, while stoned, changed it to Moss R. When Ross was fired (as all drummers eventually are) in favour of Charlie Watts the band's name was changed in jest because a Rolling Stone has no Moss. The joke persisted and they remained the Rolling Stones.

SAM(society for average music) has recommended warning sticker be placed on uprights "This bass shall not be played viol-ence will not be tolerated"
Representatives were not available to determine how this recommendations affect electric bass playing.

Yo-Yo Ma in a statement to NPR said " The cello is next, the viola and violin are not far behind"

SAM issued an edict that 4 string basses are to be turned in fourths, 5 string tuned in fifths, and six strings in thirds. The designated dictator said we have to have some reasonablity in our decisions and standards. When questioned," minor or major thirds?" The DD replied "Our society deals in average, we can't confuse our membership with information"

If you use a guitar overdrive pedal on bass, your bass sound will be transposed an octave up as well as being distorted. With a line selector and a Fender VI bass, you can save money on a double neck bass/guitar if you are in a prog rock band.

That's the good news... The bad news is that guitarists who use bass pedals happen to emulate a bass guitar.
