Let's spread some musical misinformation

It was a legal requirement for band names to start with 'The' in the 1960s under then Preposition Enforcement for Nominative Indication in Services and Entertainment Services Act of 1961. It wasn't until the 1970s that grammatical rebels Slade (originally The Slade, and previously The New The Originals) succesfully challenged it in the courts, on the proviso the guitarist got a decent haircut.

Flatness and sharpness is measured in cents because it is how much, per string, a performer could be fined per set under a 1909 law. Pianos were exempt, hence the prevalence of honky tonk pianos. The law failed to mention non-stringed instruments, hence the harp in blues being replaced by the harmonica, a.k.a. blues harp. Listening to old blues recordings, you can also tell why many were poor.

Explain the legal precedent behind The The...

Way back when, most artists went by a solo name. The backing musicians were never mentioned and rarely got payed. This led to backing musicians generally being very poor and needing assistance from the government. Sooooo... the government decided to pass a law to help the poor musicians get recognized and earn a living.(at least thats the way I heard it.)

Back when music was first invented, there was only 7 letters in the English language. Music was created as a means of encrypted communication, to escape the tyrannical persecution of the king. Word soon spread across the globe to radical revolutionarys and adopted by various cultures. Music theory was developed simply as a cover up, to hide the revolution that was taking place in society. The veil was lifted in the late nineties, bringing the most substantial libertarian achievement since the condom to the surface. All musical expression was hereby banned from the globe in public display by order of NATO. Creativity is no longer viewed as a positive aspect in society. The anti expressive movement set forth by the world leaders has succeeded in destroying freedom, thus conforming society to their ideals of a more perfect union. Will the people rise against, or will humanity simply continue onward without any plane of expressive coexistence? Only time will tell.

Presumably The King. It was important then to also know when The King had left the building.
