Let's spread some musical misinformation

Lawerence Welk is credited with being an outspoken supporter of the superior quality of analog recordings and keeping the industry from adopting inferior digital recording methods. He led many a protest in Washington DC with his halmark chant - Anna One, Anna Two, Anna Log. After he passed away Digital proponents were able to persuade the industry to make a change. The rest is history.

Anna Log is largely forgotten now, of course, but she was quite the star of bluegrass harmony vocals in the 1930s as part of the Three Annas, inspiring the Andrews Sisters,. The latter were so named because they were all sisters of people called Andrew but were otherwise unrelated.

So true. As is the little known fact that Anna Log got most of the musical genes in the family and compared to her exceptionally lazy brother Bumponna, she was a real over achiever.

Anna Log had a sister. The sister was truly the outspoken member of the family and was the spokesperson from the family when Anna Died. Mono Log gave the press a long speech before Anna's funeral in 1964. To this day, that speech is considered the best, Pre Funeral family narrative ever given. The only reason few people know about it is, the funeral happened the same day the Beatles came to America. and most of the reporters were covering that event.

Many people think that Mott the Hoople is a person named Mott and that he is a Hoople. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Mott the Hoople is named a little known punk technique in which a hoople (commonly called a theremin) is motted. Motting of course is the medieval practice of launching large projectiles with a catapult or trebuchet. Mott the Hoople was a tribute to the punk scene and the bands launching all kinds of material at their audience with a theremin antenna.

This is true. In fact legendary UK soccer commentator John Mottson was descended from a motter, or trebuchet crewman. He even wore the traditional uniform of a camel hair coat.

Everyone thinks Steve Harris' P-Bass weighs 12 lbs. This is not true, as it only weighs 8 lbs. The Signature basses deliberately were made heavier (12 lbs), so everyone thinks Steve is a very strong man.

They are so heavy because each has a central core of depleted uranium. Heavy metal indeed. There's enough residual radiation to ensure no Steve Harris fans ever have kids.

The band should, of course, not be confused with Mott the Hoopoe, the Belgian free jazz quintet. The name is a reference to Charlie 'Bird' Parker and their biggest fan John Mottson. Gary Lineker is also a devotee.

the Mosquitoes first appeared on the show Gilligan's Island in 1965
and became the most popular group in the world back in those days
but when the war in Canada came and they were all drafted
they all died when Bongo dropped the nuclear bomb he was carrying
so they hardly ever play together anymore
but when they do tickets go fast/////

In the 60s and early 70s, before MTV was invented, bands struggled to gain a following. One of the ways that bands could spread their awareness was through music placement in sitcoms. In fact, some bands paid to be featured in the highest budget television series.

You're right! This is how Motörhead got famous.

People did feel that Led Zeppelin's appearance on Dads Army was inappropriate as the wardrobe department got confused and dressed them as WW1 Germans.

The Stray Cats were often seen on Hi-Di-Hi.
