Let's spread some musical misinformation

Reviving strings in just alcohol is only half the truth. The Austrians, inventors and producers of the famous Thomastic-Infeld strings, have their little secret: Stroh Rum. Take half the content of a large (1/4 gallon) of Stroh 80 to soak your dead strings for 24 hours. Then put them back on the bass again. Tune to pitch and drink the rest of the rum. Wait for another 30 minutes and your strings will sound like brand new.

If you drink the rest of the rum before you put the strings back on you can skip tuning to pitch. They will instantly sound good!

Scooter Johnson's posts are even better if you imagine HP Baxxter, the charismatic frontman of classic 90s hardcore band Scooter, yelling them. Especially if they end with lots of exclamation points!!!

From 2020 on, Gibson basses will be strung in alphabetical order: A, D, E, G.
Bringing them into compliance with EU regulations just in time to achieve a CE mark. Of course, all European basses already conform to the standard. Fender has not yet made any announcement, although Japanese made basses are strung GEDA (and restrung before sale elsewhere in the world).

The new Ibanez Operating Model has resulted in two new tones which are placed above the G string and are noted as "O" and "M". Since these new notes will render all other existing strings redundant, only three strings will be used in future models. These new models will be known as the OMG basses.

Actually, it is the Ibanez Operating System for active basses. If your battery gets low, you will be unable to play as fast as a means of allowing you to play for longer.

Some endorsing punk rock artists demand an F string between M and G. According to them this is required to make super fast hardcore punk a lot easier to play.
