Blonde dummies are the best!Always use a dummy load, when testing sensitive equipment before application or whenever you wish to take advantage of valve-driven amplification in a silent setting. These days, dummies are not too hard to come by so there's no excuse not to follow this advice.
High-profile dummies are the best — the higher the profile the better — as they tend to be much more consistent, rarely displaying any dissimilar characteristics, beyond profound dumbness. This makes them the ideal tool, whenever you require a seriously low noise floor.
