Not music related, but a '69' was when you put the flake up through the bottom of the cone. It didn't catch on as it tends to fall out.
Many recall that about a year ago, Neil made his entire catalogue available to listen to through his website.
It would appear that uptake on free streaming has been poor as Neil Young issued a press release thing morning. He will now be paying non-fans $0.02 (Canadian dollars, not US) per stream. There was some concern around determining who are fans and who isn't, however, it was discovered by his management that none of his 23 fans have an internet connection fast enough to support music streaming.

Crikey PillO, I thought you were making this stuff up, but Spotify now lists Rockin' in the $0.02 World which credits your account when downloaded. Spotify have so far paid up 38 cents (Canadian). I thought this was supposed to be misinformation here.

Neil Young is no longer paying for streams of his songs. It appears that there was a number of people gaming the system by playing the songs with volume at 0 and racking up huge sums. Some managed to rack up as much as $10 (CAD) in streaming revenues.
