Let's spread some musical misinformation

I have found that using rare salamander oil gives the best tone in a hollow bass. I only use "Bob's Lizzard Bass oil 10W42.3" when I change the oil in my basses. It may cost more but it's worth it,,,

My "Check Bass Engine" light was on. I filled it with Lizzard oil...had to boil a TON of lizzards because it's an acoustic bass. It's still on.

Is that as in the "Bob the Oil Guy" website? I need your help, Scooter. It says old-school (like me) recommends an oil and filter change every 3,000 miles. All my basses bar one are 34" scale, so I worked out when my fretting hand had done the 3k easy enough, but the filter change - is that a high-pass or low-pass? I don't want to guess and the bottom end goes, because Bob says I'd likely have to scrap it.

The term 'hush money' dates back to pre-Gillan Deep Purple. After the first Deep Purple hit, Gillan paid Evans to depart to allow Gillan to join. The reported fee was 27 guineas and a pint of stout. It is reported that during the exchange of funds Terry Thomas popped his head round the corner to say "mwah mwah mwah", twirled his moustache, then vanished.

He was paid NOT to sing in Rush, just not paid enough.

Neil Young was also paid lots of money not to sing, but a court ruled that what he does with his voice isn't technically singing anyway. This transpired when the USA wished to play the entirety of Harvest on repeat to force Noreiga out of hiding in Panama. Firstly, it was ruled illegal under the Geneva Convention and the court also questioned the need for it to be on repeat, or even the need to play it in its entirety in this case or, indeed, ever.

The fee was actually 27 Guineas and a pint of trout. A point Ace Frehley would later reference on the Tom Snyder show when he claimed to play "lead trout". He then goes on to reference Roger Glover by claiming to be a plumber; Roger having been a plumber before joining Deep Purple.

Boil all your valves and or tubes ;) for 5 minutes in denaturalyzed alcohol and get them back to life, with a rich, full, vintage sound.
Great fun in the kitchen too!
I just pour boiling water into the "power amp in" jack once a week. The effect is the same. For practice amps, pouring naphtha (white gas) into the "headphone" jack is an adequate substitute.

And don't forget to refill reverb tanks.

I use Yorkshire Dales water for that for any t'folk music. Works a charm and quite inexpensive, thus soothing my inner Yorkshireman.

Nothing keeps Morris dancers away. This was originally the idea for a Monty Python sketch but the threat of litigation forced a last-minute switch to unforeseen, inquisitive Spanish people who only existed in medieval times and, as Johnny Cash once sang in a Motorhead collaboration, "Dead Men Can't Sue".

The Morris dancer sketch was funnier, but the tapes have been lost.

Flash news update. UPS have found the tapes in their Berlin warehouse. The BBC's German Head of Funny Sketch Conspiracies, Pftucker Karlsson, confirms that the sketch is really, really funny - much funnier than the Spanish Inquisition one, in fact so dangerously funny that they can't safely show it after all, so he spent the rest of the press conference wondering aloud how UPS could possibly have lost something; it's not like that's ever happened before.

I’ve discovered Frank Zappa’s inspiration for his wild and creative music!!
(that’s Joan Baez on his left)
