Let's spread some musical misinformation

Monsieurs Palmer, Lake and Emerson were actually fans of a little-known French tribute band: Les Fab Quattre

The 3 proggers had already renamed their band from PEL to LEP when after hearing the tribute band cover the Beatles' famous title track from the similarly named album... the trio renamed their band " 'ELP!" — but Les Fab Quattre had beaten them to the punch and had themselves already renamed from Les Fab Quattre to " 'ELP!", so they ended up using their surnames Emerson Lake & Palmer.

In 2015 Keith Emerson and Greg Lake discussed reuniting and auditioned then President Obama as drummer. They were going to tour under the name ELO. They received a cease and desist letter from counsel for Jeff Lynne.

They later added Ted Nugent, but got sidetracked trying to become the loudest band in space, employing some guy from South Africa as a spokesman.

As part of the artist relations programs at most manufacturers, artists with a signature instrument can attend the factory to select the instruments that they will take delivery of. As part of that process, the artist must lick the instruments that they want to ensure that no one else will want them.

Sad that so many great musicians died prematurely from poisoning after licking the lead paint on their chosen instruments.

The two most famous families of musicians made an album. It was to be titled: "King Lee sings". The Kings and the Lees together at last! Unfortunately, like many family reunions, this one was fraught with conflict. First was the musical direction a production of this magnitude would take. They decided on a chorus approach similar to "We Are The World". The only problem was that many couldn't sing as well as they played. Freddie, Albert, and B.B. couldn't figure out which one should play lead. The other side of the family had a similar problem. Will, Geddy and Alvin all played great and sang. They couldn't decide who the lead singer would be. Brenda won out because she wasn't as good on guitar or bass as the others. By the time they ironed out all of the wrinkles, the idea of a family concept album was hammered into the ground by another group: The Newtons. Their version of The Weight was a minor hit but infighting over the lead role soon doomed them. Juice, Wayne and Fig parted ways. King Lee saw this as an opportunity to mend their ways and bury this horrid concept for good. If only K-Tel hadn't released it for $3.99 with a different cover.

Jazz is easy to recognize. The wrong notes are played or the right notes are played at the wrong time. I have achieved black belt levels of jazz by being able to play the wrong note at the wrong time every time.
but remember - if you do play a wrong note at the wrong time you must glare angrily at the drummer!

Or fire him...
We should not hate the drummer. He should not draw our ire. Nor should we cause him to seek other musical situations. No brothers and sisters. We should pity the drummer, for he can be no more than he is.

Do we hate square dance callers or morris dancers for what they are? No. We pity them for what they have become.

Just as Jesus ministered to the lepers, we should pity the drummer and help him to become more than he is by teaching him to play the accordion or banjo.

A drum riser is most often a vain attempt to lift the game of problem drummers and is usually placed directly above the onstage gallows trapdoor which may be used to dispense with a fired drummer, if the riser fails to fix the problem.

The best bands arrange for their drummers to spontaneously combust on stage. Or sometimes arrange for them to choke on vomit.
