Let's spread some musical misinformation

I have noticed that many people carry bottles of water from which they regularly sip. I have also found that put into some sort of water bottle, vodka is indistinguishable. And when done at work, people will praise your dedication to remaining hydrated.
When I was a lecturer I went through a time when my throat would go very dry so I would bring a metal thermos of water with me into the lecture room. I was told by one student that they were taking bets on whether what I was drinking was gin or vodka :)

Little known fact...

Michael Anthony's "JD" bass was actually made from an authentic promotional bottle from the distillery.

If you look closely at photos of him using the bass live, you may see a VeryThin (not to be confused with Varitone) flexible straw taped up from the bottle behind his strap, through his hair down to his beard and into the corner of his mouth — straw totally hidden the whole way 94% of the time.

MA got low mileage, about 2-3 gigs between refills.

You could say that being "bottle fed" got him through many a gig, having to put up with DLR's antics.
Nonetheless, on some bootlegs you can hear him slur his background singing mid guzzle...

Michael Anthony was nearly fired as he said that he was sad to see DLR go. Then he was nearly fired for saying that Sammy Hagar was a good addition to the band. In the end he was fired after saying he was happy to work with DLR again. The moral of the story is to never get along with the singer.

Many musicians consider themselves members of a party band. What they don't know is that this refers to Part E of the IRS code; a special section just for members of bands. It allows for the expensing of certain musical items such as strings, picks, amplifiers etc. However, it does not allow for the expensing of tuners and that is why party bands often suffer from tuning issues.

It does allow singers of bluesrock bands to expense Jack Daniels for developing an appropriate rock vocal tone, though. But ironically only if they use it medicinally at home rather than at parties.

An amateur! Lemmy would have had a line from it straight into his blood stream.

That is how you get back all the mojo you left on the strings.

Or you can use it to refill a reverb tank.

They are so called as back in the 1950s they used to create reverb by sending the signal down the barrel of an M4 Sherman and putting a mic in the pistol port at the back of the turret. But to control the amount of reverb either you had to also invest in a German Tiger tank (hard to get) or one of those tiny WW1 French Renault tanks, which at least when you didn't need it you could store inside the Tiger tank. So the concept of filling the tank with water to tune it became established and the system was called the TC - Tank Commander. Eventually those old Shermans rusted away due to the water and Tank Commander Electronics, or TC Electronics as we know it today, was born.

Michael Anthony is a stage name. He's really Anthony Michael. It was suggested that he go down to one name like Rhianna but indicated that would be taking the Michael. It would have allowed Sting to have become Mike Sting, though, by using the spare name, or for Harrison Ford to have a proper first name.
