Let's spread some musical misinformation

Also, the term "Live DJ" has been relegated to the off-world storage area for oxymorons.

Musicians who perform as an opening act for a "live DJ" at any venue, private or public, will incur a mandatory and automatic revocation of their artistic license, and may only play Kenny G's tunes on bagpipes or the accordion for the rest of their career.
Maybe also Banjos.

Before the ukulele the most popular instrument in Hawai was the double bass, but it wouldn’t fit on your lap, so it’s popularity faded.
The Hawaian double bass was derived from traditional canoes. As Hawaii is so pleasant, people felt the need to travel less and reused the canoes as instruments. A similar thing would have happened in Austria had it had a coastline and were it possible to turn a boat into something you can play oompah music on.

"Shoegaze" is actually a French word meaning "band with female bassist".
I thought it was from the name of Robert Smith's favourite food, the "chou glaze", a sort of sugar-coated chocolate eclair. His fans don't speak French as well as Robert so misunderstood when he expounded the virtues of Parisian pattiseries during a gig in Bradford, West Yorkshire in November 1989. You can tell a Yorkshireman, but you can't tell him much. Especially about French snacks - he'll just tell you to have an eccles cake. However, by that point, the support band (New Model Army on home turf) had eaten them all.
