Light Weight Amplifiers?

Apart from Markbass, what are other brands out are known for selling lightweight amps/cabinets? Pretty sure I'm seen a couple around, though tbh they all have another common theme - EXPENSIVE AS!!!

Would be nice to see a company out there that makes this kind of amp for a reasonable price, just like Sire Guitars with the Marcus Miller V7 for example.

Thoughts anyone?

The Fender Rumble series. It happens to be the world's best selling line of amps. Go check out the Fender Rumble Club thread in the Amps and Cabs forum. There are 680 happy Rumblers there, including me. When I decided to go light, I did side by side comparisons with Markbass, Ampeg, and Fender Rumble. Rumble won on tone. Price was not a factor.

Expensive is a relative term, I bought my CMD151P Mark Berlin
new, in hindsight I would have bought used=avg. used price about $700. I consider it a good investment, great tone, just enough volume for smaller gigs, lightweight portability. Heck,
even at the$1,000 I paid for it a year ago I consider it a good investment. I did side by side comparo's with the Fender rumble
(which came in 2nd in tone and power), the GK Neo series (did
nothing for me, both in tone and power departments), Orange
Amplifiers (I forget their lightweight combo models name,
but it wasn't nearly powerful enough, though it sounded decent), the Hartke combo's (again a bit sterile sounding and the power was underwhelming). So given my choices I did decide to splurge a bit, but I believe I haven't lost anything
tone wise in my small rig compared to my big rig, which was
my main deciding factor. As stated earlier the only thing I would change was to buy it used and save $300-$400.

USED.

Get a Aggie Tonehammer $500 for around $500 and be done with it.

Um...you can get a ToneHammer 500 for $500 used. You can get Mesa's new class D for $600 used and $700 new, and I've seen their hybrid heads for under $500. Darkglass is coming out with a class D that will incorporate the great Darkglass effects; that will cost around $1k new. And there's much more available. This is as good a time as it has ever been for lightweight, affordable, quality bass amps.
