Light weight bass

Hi, due back and shoulder issues I am considering to get a light weight bass, I have always played fender jazz US, but not easy to carry and have on shoulder anymore. Can someone suggest a good bass that is light weight? Can be short scale as well. Budget ideally between $1.5k- $2k range

Here's another plus 1 for the Fender Aerodyne. It's got a thinner profile and 7lbs. I'm and old dude and its always my go to when I'm on my feet for an extended period. Love mine.

I brought an accurate scale to GC and the two Aerodyne's they had were over 8.5lbs.
Bought the empress G&L a few days later.

Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass or if you don't mind active basses, Ibanez SRs are known for their light weight. From what I've seen on Sweetwater, the more expensive SRs are heavier.

If you don't dislike headless basses, I'd also recommend the Ibanez EHBs.

I have a Bordwell headed for the classifieds this week. 34”, 6.5 pounds, Nordstrand jazz style pickups, Aguilar preamp plus a vintage tone knob. Well cared for. A little north of $2k shipped but it plays great and balances nicely.

I’m only selling because I play 30” exclusively now.

Here you go bro, I highly doubt it gets any lighter than 3 lbs.

Most Ibanez basses tend to have thin lightweight bodies.
