Lightest 4-string?

My MTD Artist is already down to 7.4 lbs. Must be lighter ones out there!

This one is 6.2 lbs 33" scale. My 3-string is 5.5 lbs 31" scale.

If you want a more traditional or vintage look, check out Bluesman Vintage basses. I hear they are routinely under 8 pounds.

Unsure of exact weight, but Danelectro Longhorn short scale is semi hollow body, and very light.

I would think any one of the various Steinberger-esque headless basses would be pretty light. (Hohner, Ibanez Axstar, Steinberger Spirit/Synapse/etc&#8230

TBC basses are super lightweight and are regular scale. Do a search here, you will find lots of info. I love mine and so does my back

My Dingwall ABZ is 6-7 pounds. One piece, swamp ash body with no poly coat. Can't even tell it's on.

Hofners are the lightest I'm aware of, usually 5 lbs. or so.

Actually my Ibanez Axstar is not that light (7.7 pounds/3.5 kg) compared to my full size Ibanez SR700 (8.6 pounds/3.9 kg).

For some reason I thought that Ash was supposed to be a really dense, or heavy, wood.
