    hey guys

simple question what is the lightest solid body bass you have ever played?

the lightest bass i personally played was an ibanez sr505 at the local guitar center. the body was paper thin and extremely comfotrable. as for tone and all that fun stuff it was nice but for that price id rather go with something else.
  2. My old Yamaha RBX 200RF weighs slightly more than a hatful of goose down.

Hagstrom Hii-B is my lightest at 6.59lbs, and it is also my oldest electric bass (1965).

Even beats out my Kramer Duke (6.75lbs), but it is probably cheating to class these 80s headless basses with the traditional solid bodies.

I had a Fender P Lyte Deluxe, it was actually too light for me. Something around 6.5-7 lbs.

My First bass Sin-i-ster a Yamaha RBX170 it is as light as a feather but, with all the basses I've tried out I may have found lighter basses but, off the top of my head I can't recall them.

I have a MIK Squier II P bass that's under 8, even with 3 or 4 layers of paint and a ton of stickers, of course the pots are gutted and it's wired straight to jack. I've never really been able to get enough "traction" on anything much lighter.

My Fender P is super light at 7.8lbs. Definitely not the lightest out there, but if it were any lighter then I wouldn't be able to play it because it'd bounce around to much while I was moving on stage.
  16. Fender Precision Lyte.

An Ibanez SR900, a great instrument that I sold many years ago because it was not for me at the time. But I can tell you what was the heaviest I had, a Godin SD4: solid Canadian maple body, all is said.. Awesome neck, very good sound but heavy as a truck. :crying:
