Lighting your Effects - Options!

hey guys,

i tried searching and nothing came up. my question is how do you guy's light up your pedals? dark stage....what do you do to be able to see your pedals. I know dano beavis had this cool computer/gameboy light adapter he would adapt to his pedaltrain and it looked pretty neat but i wanted to see what all you other guys do. not all venues are the same with lighting....and well i have a fairly large setup so i wanna see it all so i don't jack up my jams! thanks for the suggestions.

I like the usb hub idea ... no batteries. That 'pedalboard light' by mighty bright takes 3 AAA's. The clip feature might be nice though.

I'm thinking of using some small dental mirrors to harness and redirect the blinding blue LED from my Dunlop DC brick. I mounted it so the light was between the slats, but if I look at the middle of the board, I go blind for a split second.

Wish that 'pedalboard light' could be operated through 9v then use a brick or voodoo pedal power

+1 for the "boardpimp" method, and I agree with WHOATHERECHUNK and WALKER ROSEWOOD that being able to ditch the batteries is best.

I put all my pedals into a rack-mount setup and just use the front lights via my rack-mount power supply. I didn't like the idea of a $5 pitcher of beer wiping out $$$$ worth of pedalboard, so now everything is controlled by loop switchers and I just have a midi controller (Gordius LG-X/2) & expression pedals out front.

However if I want to make an adjustment on the fly to a pedal that is buried deep within my rack, and it's not mapped to an expression pedal, I'm hosed...

I just bought a USB power adapter and a USB hub. I'll get some lights soonish.

I like the danger of not having lights. You might discover some great new sounds. Of course, you might blow every speaker in your cabs and the PA too, but who said art should be cheap?

that pedalboard light looks alot like a book light you can get from wal-mart or borders ect...

does anyone have links for the components that were used on the beavis project. i looked up hubs and i know i dont need 2.0 powered ones but that's all i can find! i found some notebook lights and while they are cheap, two of em will cost at least 6-10 bucks without shipping. plus an adapter for the hub and i'm already over 25 bucks. that's more than that pedalboard light! gahhhh.
