So work has me on the road a lot. I mean about 75% of the time. A really rough part of that, is Time away from family and friends. My friend a Jauqo III-x, talk quite a bit on the phone, as I check out different music stores along my travels, but a swear the guy is killing me (in the best way) with a Lightwave bass that is being built for him. Talking about it, sending pics.
The first set ( I think I might have posted about it) showed some of the most figured maple I've seen) when he said it was going to go out and be finished in blue. I thought what a horrible mistake, I was wrong.
Well Jauqo, sent me pics and envited me to check it out when it arrives this week and I'm down in Paducah Kentucky...

I once had a Conklin 7 that proved too much bass for me, and I've never been a good fretless player, but just looking at that thing makes me want to play.
Anybody have any Lightwave experience?
I know this one is J's but it's got me thinking I need some of there fretless basses, and I haven't even played yet....

Well gosh darn it... thanks for the above post, because I was just noodling around on this sight and decided to search on "lightwave" since I bought a used fretless 4 string off another TB'er about six months ago and was curious. My first bass in many many years and I am slowly getting my chops up so I can once again claim to be a solid intermediate level player (on a good day anyways). Well, I went to the sight and saw the fretted 6 in zebra wood on top of walnut and decided right then and there it was the most beautiful bass I have ever seen, so I just bought it. The virus continues to spread

Thanks @kirkdickinson !!! I don't know how I missed that. I need to start spending a little more time around here, which I definitely will as it is time to get much more serious about bass now that I have spent 3x what I ever thought I would spend on a bass. The investment is not required to help me love bass playing, it is causing me to stop trying to do so many other things poorly and start focusing a bit more. When it comes to general life lessons, I am a slow learner.
