limited useage for replying to classified ads ?

This is a huge disappointment.... HUGE! I have a couple basses about to go up for sale. My membership just expired, so now I have to think twice about where to sell them. What a bummer. I loved the classifieds just the way they were!
WHat is weird is that in the effects forum, I have noticed a few people have been able to post in other people's FS threads….How?

I can agree with this to a point as well, and would even go so far as to be a "hand-raising volunteer".
As would i. I would even upgrade my membership to gold and pay what i must to make the change back.
Was thread bumping really that big of an issue? I didn't really see it happening abusively, and if a question and answer gives a "free bump" to a classified, then so be it. That was actually a good thing IMO, and would simply even out over the life of the sale for most items.
I also agree with changing this policy ASAP. I want to see opinions on the product that I might purchase and it also creates a friendly bonding atmosphere between people of the same interests. Let's keep it live and real. In musical terms, this change has turned TB to lip-sync and midi music. The good side to this is it might cure my addiction to TalkBass.

As tempting as that would be right now, I think that should be left to Paul and the mods for now.
Agree with the VAST majority. The new way makes little to no sense at all.
I could argue either way about this but prefer the old ways for classifieds, HOWEVER this being applied to the Hot Deals section is plain silly and the layout will cause people to think that they can post their items if they haven't read the rules
There's another thread about this topic going on simultaneously. The mods have replied a bit in it, here.
I think being able to post in a classified thread is very helpful and I don't think bumping threads was problem imo as all you have to do is sort the view of the forum to thread created time (I forgot what is was called on the old forum). That way you saw all the newest posted stuff first.

Yep.. I agree.. its a bad idea to limit the responses and on every front.
Definitely my last year of subscribing if these changes are permanent. Not even a tough decision.
Joining the bandwagon here to say that removing comments from the classifieds significantly limits the effectiveness of TB classifieds.
