Line 6 HX One

Playing around with my new HX One I discovered my Dunlop expression pedal behaved strange with a TS cable; (as recommend in the manual) going from min over max back to min going heel/toe.
Switched to a TRS cable and now it behaves as expected; min/max = heel/toe.

Really liking this pedal now👍🏻

For you HX One users, I discovered a recent and important firmware update today. 1) Fixes the long-standing Preset naming display issue and 2) Saves the on/off state in the preset. Used to be scrolling through saved presets with a F/S made them live (on) as soon as selected. Now they are either on or off based on the saved state.

Both these fixes are super helpful to me.

Checking in to see how everyone is still liking this pedal?

A guitarist at the gig this weekend had one and used it as his “wildcard” pedal since he already has a nice setup.

Any complaints on latency, reliability etc?
Its remains a core component to my worship bass board. Recent firmware update fixed some longstanding weaknesses.

You can save the post/pre setting for each effect if you do 4 cable.
That's really great!
Only drag is you have to go in to the global settings with the relevant effect selected and set pre/post and then save. Should have been a post/pre in the effect parameter window all the way to the right after the flux settings.....

I’m considering the One as a Swiss army multiple different distortion box for my board. Something I could use to easily switch from the damned to black flag to bad brains, etc. My only hesitation is the lack of a clean blend with the different drives. Have others missed this feature or am I overthinking things

The different distortion modules mostly have a "mix" setting. If you use an expression pedal assigned to this parameter you could control distortion from full off to full on or anything in-between

I had toyed with using small booster pedals like the TC Spark or JHS Prestige on my board and then realized I have the HX One. I programmed some different boosts from clean to dirty just using things like Parametric EQ, Retro Reel, the EP boost, and even the Regal and Obisidian preamps for some color. The HX One can wear a lot of hats.

With no effect active, there is a slight tonal difference when the HX One is switched from True Bypass to DSP mode. Can anyone suggest a device or setting that will offset that difference?

I'll describe the effect of adding DSP-only as a slight reduction in brightness with a faint raising of the noise floor.
