I let the lack of XLR output keep me away at first. It does seem like a logical thing on a box that seems to be intended to be an "all in one" solution.

Totally agree. It's a surprising omission, though I suppose it's meant to help differentiate the smaller Stomp from its larger Helix siblings. Adding an XLR output would likely increase the size of the box as well, which Line 6 were no doubt trying to keep small and more stompbox'y.

Nope, no autotune effects. You mught be better off buying a pedal designed for vocals; they will often have tuning effects.

Quick idea: you could use the tuner in bypass mode. It would give real time pitch feedback. It’s not autotune but it would probably help.

Well, my comment about the XLR was intended as more of a joke... I've been using the line level TRS output pretty much since I got the Stomp, but I do know there are others that would definitely prefer the XLR.

I'm a tech nerd and have always been jealous of the tech in the Quad Cortex. But if I could only pick a single upgrade feature for the next Stomp, it'd be a nice sized touch screen. Wouldn't need to be huge, just nicely usable.

I looked at a Quad Cortex. But the Stomp already has more power than I use at $600. The QC is 3x that much. The touch screen drag and drop is sexy, but I think the Stomp is a real bang for your buck option.

Just finished soundcheck. The Stomp into the MISO worked great. The problem is that the front of the stage is a massive bank of subs so it’s all just a wash of low end. Even with my IEMs the stage sound is pretty rough as a result. Oh well. At least my gear isn’t the problem.

You just summed up my gear philosophy in one sentence. I'm giving you my best - the board is small, but it's suitable for a professional arena gig and FOH can do anything they want with it. Oh, it's an echo-y basketball gym, there's nobody running sound, and the whole band is sharing one power outlet with two beer fridges and a power bandsaw? OK, we'll try...

This is from a gig a couple weeks ago - between periods of hockey at the local arena. If you zoom in behind the guitar players headstock you can just see my rig. Nano+ with a Sonic Research Tuner, a Rolls PM50s for my wired IEM’s, the Stomp and the Sushi Box Finally at the end. Powered by a CIOKS DC7 underneath. I run both the Finally and a send from the Stomp (bypassing the Finally) to FOH. People mix and match for both FOH and IEM mixes. I pan one hard left and one hard right. Great rig. I don’t bring a synth any more as I have it on my Stomp. Pedalnetics Aux 4/5 completed the rig and allows scrolling through presets.
I miss my REDDI sometimes, but not at load in/out and I can leave my rig in the trunk of my car.

I like the whole bands set up. Silent stage. No excess gear. Really clean. I have enough room to have 2 or 3 basses with me.

Question regarding the compressors in the Stomp. I’ve heard mixed reviews on them but I’ve considered offing the majority of my pedals and I’m shopping ideas currently. Are the comps decent? I’m currently using a SA Atlas and I like it a lot but it’s a set and forget pedal in the 1176 setting and I’m wondering if the Stomp has what I’m after. Thanks.

Yeah they ahve the LA Comp which is the LA 2A model. And if I recall correctly, there's some 1176 settings for the Deluxe comp around talkbass.

Rotchester comp is a sleeper too.

The Rochester comp is very good for bass. The LA-1a clone, I think called LA studio comp is good too

I was generally unimpressed by the compressors except for the Deluxe Comp. It works well without providing too much color. If, on the other hand, you’re looking for something with a lot of color I’d say that the Stomp’s offerings aren’t going to compete very well with something like an LA1A, Cali76, or Alma.

Totally makes sense, of course.

The tech nerd in me was (and maybe still is) a little jealous of the Cortex's bells and whistles, but I was already well established with my Stomp when the QC released and didn't want to justify the price of the Cortex because of that. But, I'm definitely curious to see what Line 6 comes up with as a successor to the Helix. Even if it's just the Helix ecosystem on new hardware, it might be enough to tempt me. Especially if presets are backwards compatible.

I currently run an Empress Bass Comp before my Stomp, but mainly because I have the room on my board. But I'll echo @silky smoove, I've got the Deluxe Comp in my chain if I'm running just my Stomp (and sometimes I'll run it in addition to my Empress). The LA Studio Comp is pretty nice as well. Never tried the Rochester Comp, but @makanudo and @NorthTexasBass add to the list of positive comments I've heard about it.

The compressors in the stomp are excellent. I bought an Empress and sent it back, because I could dial in a very similar style on the stomp. I might get a more colored compressor in the future.
The problem with the stomp is that it doesn't show you any gain reduction. So it is incredibly hard to know what the compressor is doing - and how it will be sitting in the mix. Especially if it adds certain tonality to it and isn't just purely clean.
Took me quite a few hours to dial in the compressor correctly -.-
