A buddy of mine runs a studio and has an old Eventide Harmonizer rack processor that sounds absolutely HUGE when I run bass (especially fretless) through it to create a slight detune (actually two detuned voices on different sides) and stereo spread. This effect was used on countless recordings in the late-70s and early-80s on every instrument (including drums and vocals). The "Dual Pitch" block in Helix is essentially an emulation of a basic Eventide Harmonizer. It doesn't sound/function as nice as the original, but gets the basic functionality- it definitely works best in stereo though (in mono there can be some noticeable phasing with bass depending on settings). Any of the basic pitch-shifters set with a little bit of detune can work pretty well too for a non-modulated chorusing sound in mono. What you also occasionally read: with small values that only lead to a slight detuning, chorus-like effects are probably possible that should sound very good. Then of course with a 50:50% mix.
It's been on my to-do list for a while, I'll have to try it out now.
This is the way. Buy once. Cry once.Cioks DC7 and this cable Current Doubler Cable for CIOKS DC7 Power Supply and Line 6 Pedals — Logsdon Audio
Choose an analog or tape delay and assign the feedback control to a footswitch. Set the switch to momentary.
I may be wrong but my impression is the Truetone is thicker. I know a Cioks will fit under a Nano size board without modifying the feet. Thanks for all the suggestions!!
I’m torn between a Cioks DC7 and a Truetone CS12. Everyone here loves Cioks, which is a good sign! Any reason for that? Why’d you go Cioks over Truetone, etc?
I’m having a hard time discerning if the DC7 could be enough power. I have an HX Stomp, 4 pedals with a low power draw (one of which requires 18v), and a POG which requires 300ma.
Also, why the decision to DC7 and a Crux and not just go the the DC10?
Thanks for all the suggestions!!

I’m using a Temple Audio board with a Cioks Hi5 Mod. I could either use two of the five outputs for the HX, or I could keep all five for other pedals, and use the 24V DC tap for a Crux that powers the HX separately. In my case it was a no-brainer.lso, why the decision to DC7 and a Crux and not just go the the DC10?
FWIW I’m using a Pedaltrain Classic, so clearance isn’t really an issue.I may be wrong but my impression is the Truetone is thicker. I know a Cioks will fit under a Nano size board without modifying the feet.
A DC10 has more outlets but it's far less current per outlet. 100mA for most of them. Thanks for all the suggestions!!

I have both Truetone CS6 and Cioks DC7. The Cioks supplies I’ve known after nearly 15 years of using them to be stout and reliable (never an issue at all, my Cioks AC10 from 2010 still works perfectly after heavy use that whole time and I’ve actually never heard of a supply of theirs failing) while past Truetone OneSpot products (same tech in their CS boxes) I’ve used have always failed eventually. There have been a few accounts of using a Truetone with a Stomp from a single output in this thread and it killing one of the outputs for what it’s worth, so may be worth still using a current doubler with it to be safe. Both supplies are great, the price of the Truetone supplies is part of their value. Thanks for all the suggestions!!

I use a CS6 on a Metro, if I went bigger, I'd definitely buy the CS12 to use with my stomp.FWIW I’m using a Pedaltrain Classic, so clearance isn’t really an issue.
The modern Cioks units are popular because they offer a lot of juice per output and each output is switchable 9/12/15/18 volts. Together with either a current doubler or voltage doubler you can power almost anything. Add to that the modular option to chain the 8 or 4 on the 24v output and the usb output and you're looking at a very rich feature set. On top of that, it's very slim and reliable. Thanks for all the suggestions!!

Native I’ve is a whole stand alone Helix that lives in your computer inside a host DAW. HX Edit is for changing parameters on your existing physical Stomp.
Has anybody in this group set up a computer and run HS Native live? I am curious if that is doable and if the latency would be too much?
