^ Got an e-mail about them making GearBox free for X3 users.
Hehe, guess they got flamed for their "gearbox [for the X3] is finally here, but we're gonna charge you for it" move.

They did a couple weeks (maybe even a month) ago when I checked into it. I did my X3 review around that time.
Serious. I was all like "OMG GearBox works with the X3 now, might as well try it". A few pages later I was more like "*** 99$!!!!! Kiss my ***"
Funny part is, now that im in the process of selling it (got some bites locally), NOW they make it free
Tho IMO the X3 doesn't really need a separate editor, tho now at least X3 users can translate their xt tones, and even share their tones if they want

You were looking at the GearBox VST plugin. The GearBox editor has been free.

I've never been a fan of how they name some of their software. To me they should name the VST and the editor two different things.
