I believe those were/are available on the XT. Modern Rock is the Hartke sim I believe, but I don't have the Pod here with me.
My guess is they are new voices based on some of the old stuff and maybe some of the new pre amp models.
I can't speak directly to piggy-backing, but I've heard once you get used to it, adjusting the two models is pretty simple.
Albert Hall is my favorite patch, the amp in the rig is a Hiwatt DR103.
I have the X3 bean... I agree with all the positive comments in the thread. Dual rigs are the mutt's nutts. Switching between the rigs for editing is easy enough, I haven't opened the manual since the first week I had it.

You need to hit Line6.com and check out the X3. It allows you to run two amp models at once and blend them together for a unique tone. It also lets you use more than one stomp box or mod which has been a beef of some people for quite some time.
The X3 has the same models as the XT with all of the expansion packs (effects junkie, classic amps, metal amps and bass expansion pack) plus it includes 4 or 5 console models ad a few effects designed for vocals. The models have been tweaked for more realism since they now have more processing power available. The XT is a fine piece of gear, but the X3 adds so much more.

Don't hold your breath. Line 6 has some clips on their site. I have too much going on to deal with the hassle of recording. I really should pick up one of those cheap mini recorders from Boss.
I don't have an XT. Honestly before the X3 I was planning on building a recording rig around a sansamp PSA (I play guitar as well) . I ran over budget on my guitar purchase at the time and decided to check out the XT, when I got to Guitar Center (yay) the salesman pointed out the X3 had come out today. I bought it figuring I could sell it pretty easy if I hated it. As it turns out the X3 rocks the cashbah. I can't really comment on how much better the X3 is over the XT except I see lots of posts saying it is, but maybe they're drinking the line6 koolaid. Hard to argue with how much more processing power it has though. I primarily play bass now and it kicks ass for that just as much as guitar.
How is the tube amp modeling on this thing. I currently run a SWR intersteller and would like to keep a tube tone as a move from rack unit with cabs and stomp boxes to a small combo and multi effects pedal.
There was a post a few months ago about a guy that bypassed the preamp on his SVT and used the SVT model on a POD XT. He thought it sounded better.
Does it sound exactly like the real thing? No. But you get an extreme amount of flexibility in a small, compact form factor for $399 (bean).
Definitely try one out at your local music store.
I was more leaning to the floor version (X3 live I also play a little guitar). If I go with the bean I have to get a foot controler and I am looking to minimize the number of things I need to tote. If it does not sound exactally like my 'stella that is fine. Just hoping to keep some tube tone.

There are a LOT of reported bugs with the Live version. It looks like it's smarter to get the bean & then add a floorboard later if you need it.
The bean worked better for me, but I already have a floor controller. The X3Live is nice as well. I've never tried it, but people are raving about running the X3 series through Atomic Amps.
I have read through some of those. I hope if there are any real issues they get worked out before I buy one, which will not be for a few months (need to save some $$)
On the X3 how do the dynamics work, that has always been one of the thing that turned me off about the line 6 stuff in the past. If you dig in more does it respond to it?
Hmmm.. This is realy intruging. Kinda anoying, i think the X3 was released a week after i bought my Bass XT Live. I am realy wanting the bi-amp feature (I am a big Entwistle fan..) and i hear only good stuff about it.
Maby i should get the bean? If i get the money that makes me able to afford it, i can afford the Status Graphite B2.. (ok, my point there was: I only use the Live feature for a ocasional Wah pedal, and that is kinda built in to the B2 bass with its mid control...) I also find the live a little "big" to take back and forth to practice each time, as I have bass or 2 to bring along also

This an older thread, but I just wanted to say that after months of tweaking, 'Albert Hall' is my favorite patch as well
I was really psyched about the X3, but it has sat in it's box for about the past 2 months. I think I'm tired of tweaking and just want to play.
