Yesterday, I filled the tank in my car and went in to pay. This station has about 20 pumps so there was a lineup of about 8 people patiently waiting their turn to pay. While I'm in line, a 60-year old fellow walks in to pay and goes past everyone in line right up to the cashier as if no one else was there. A few people give him a dirty look, but no one says anything. Line jumpers are one of my pet peeves, so I speak up.
Me: "Hey buddy...there's a lineup here. Why don't you wait your turn?"
He ignores me, so I walk up and stand beside him. "Excuse me, but we're all waiting in line. Why did you cut in front?"
His response: "Who the hell are you?"
Me: "I'm one of the people in the line that you cut in front of. Why can't you wait your turn like everyone else?"
His response: "F$%& off jerk."
I wanted to say more, but left it at that. What would you have done?
