Line6 Pod Go

I think I'm liking the idea of using snapshots to make changes without needing to go to an entirely different patch. The Boss GT-1B has limited on-the-go switching, and I think I could use the snapshots to vary the texture of my tone during songs without having to switch back and forth in the banks.

I've been very satisfied with the Boss unit so far, but now that I've started to add in some effects, I think I'd like to have a bit more options while performing without too much menu (bank) changing.

This is all predicated on the idea that we get to perform live again sometime soon. This down time is probably one of the bing reasons why I've even started to consider making any changes to my rig. If I was still performing regularly, I don't think I'd be as inclined to be looking for alternatives because what I have now is working very well for my cover band situation.
+1 to all of this

Snapshots, once you get everything programmed, are a HUGE advantage over the totally useable but kinda clunky switching of the more affordable offerings.

As a side...I saw a local band last summer. They were just drums and bass. The bass player had a lot of sonic territory to fill and did so really well. Sounded great, too. Afterwards I went up to give he and the drummer some props and noticed he was using the gt-1b. Maybe the player has something to do with it after all!

Got the PodGo today. So far, having spent an hour or so on it, it's a win. Lots of non-effect tonal options with the various bass amps, guitar amps, eq, and compressors. I'm not much of a comp all the time guy, but these work well for those who might be.

The effects I hoped to use work at least as well as expected. Chorus, octave, Synth, T-wah. Surprisingly, the pitch effects are such that you can drop tune and have it remain usable. Drop a 4 to BEAD for a song that needs the low range? Yup.

Overall, I'm very happy with this purchase. I haven't even begun to dig into the guitar side of it.

There's just a smidge of latency on the pitch, but not horrible. I play fives normally anyway, but I happened to be checking the PG with a passive Yamaha P, old BB-300. Anyway, I could easily see dropping the whole bass down a half step, a whole step, and a fourth, on three different patches.

I have a Yamaha 374 and 375, I liked the 374 so much I got the 375, and mostly use the 375.. I know some part of it is active but I'm not sure if its the pickups or the EQ or both.

Once I've got a bass amp and cab sound I'm 100% satisfied with (is that even possible?!) I'm gonna try your thing with the 374 vs playing the 375 and see where it goes..

there are some songs I've come across in crazy tunings like C standard, that would be really nice to be able to play without changing my tuning (also using the 374 as a 5 string in a pinch is a cool ability)

Picked up a Pod Go this week! So far I like it much more than the HX Stomp. It is much simpler to dial in and has a better layout. The sounds are exactly the same.

The power supply is even worse than the Stomp’s. Feels really flimsy and is too short. Has anyone found an alternative psu?

Also, is there a way of getting a clean blend on the guitar drives? I know there is no parallel path option so I guess that’s out.

Anyway.. awesome unit.

Just got my Pod Go yesterday and got it set up for two nights of gigging. I'm a fan of Fender bass amps, and I was able to dial in something I really like by pairing one of guitar amps with a Shift Line 2x15 cab IR. I'm not a huge fan of the drive sounds, and not being able to do a parallel path takes a lot of the guitar drive pedals out of play. However, when I have more time I'm going to work on doing all of my drive sounds via amp models/snapshots. I don't use drive/distortion much anyway. More to come, but so far very happy! Two nights of gigs so we'll see how it goes!

Yeah, the parallel paths is definitely a selling point for the HX Stomp over the Pod Go. I’ve had a go with the gain on the amps rather than drive pedals. I like that you can assign a footswitch to the amp gain. Or yeah I could set up snapshots. I need to spend some time making presets. I haven’t played at gig volume yet. First bass gig in months is coming up end of Nov. I’m even thinking about getting a Headrush or similar FRFR.

Mine arrived today. Initial 30 minutes and I'm really digging it. Going to spend lots of time with it this week in lieu of anything family or social, we've cancelled Thanksgiving. Will report once I'm further into it. We should probably make a patch discussion or similar.
