Line6 Pod Go

Wow wow wow!! WOW! This tool is so.. musical. It’s so fast to customize, the color and depth and tones... it’s so incredible. If you are on the fence on this just do it. Makes my Zoom B1x4 which is great seem like a toy. I would imagine this thing could be a pedalboard killer for many. I’ve just scratched the surface and I’ve got so many sounds that I wanted.. and they took no time at all to dial in and set up. The hipass filters and compressors alone make it an incredible value and that is like 2% of it’s power. Tomorrow I’ll play some guitar into it and it seems like it has.. brace yourself.. useful presets (right? what a concept.. useful presets). I’m astounded. HELIX processing is no joke. Hopefully others will jump on board and we’ll make a dedicated thread for setups, tips and trick. Maybe use this thread? Wow. Line6 nailed it.

Yeah, I’m loving the Pod Go after 2 gigs. One on bass, one on acoustic guitar. Direct to PA for both. Haven’t spent much time tweaking but I’m coming from a Stomp so I have a good idea of what I want in my presets. I’m thinking of picking up a Headrush or similar speaker to use as a stage monitor. I have gig coming up where I’m playing 1 set on elec guitar and 1 on bass. I’m planning to only use the Pod Go and a monitor.

Coming from the Stomp? That's interesting... I'm considering them both, for using as an ampless solution for bass and electric guitar...

Curious, what is your take between the Stomp and Pod Go?

Stomp can do parallel paths which is great for bass. You can split into a clean and dirt path so all the guitar drives sound good. Since the 3.0 update you now get 8 blocks on the Stomp. But it only has 3 footswitches. It’s a great unit to integrate into a pedalboard or add midi footswitches.

Pod Go has a more simple L-R signal path with set blocks. It has a big display showing what each footswitch does. More footswitches and an expression pedal. IMO it’s a better stand-alone unit / fly rig.

I prefer the layout of the Pod Go. I find it easier to dial in sounds. I do all my editing on the unit. With the Stomp I found I had to use HX Edit.

There is no difference in sound between the two but with the 3.0 update, the Stomp has a few more models over the Pod.

Both units are solidly built and feel top quality. They also both have terrible power supply units.

I'm currently torn between the Stomp and POD GO. I'm looking for an all in one unit direct to FOH using IEM.

I'd definitely prefer something more simple so maybe the POD is the way to go?

Only thing is the Stomp has parrelel path ability but should this deter me from the POD?

I'd like to be able to keep a lot of low end whilst blending effects. How have others found this?

I went with the Pod Go simply because I generally don't use a lot of effects (Didn't need more than 6 slots), but wanted the amp and cabinet IR's, in addition to the Noise Gate, EQ's, and a few effects here and there. I find that belnding the effects is really easy, as you can blend from full wet, to a variation down to 10%, the deep bass is not an issue at all even with effects. Just ad an EQ to keep the balance.

Thanks for the reply! Can you download IRs and load them onto the POD GO like you can the Stomp?

Anyone getting good synth bass sounds with the Pod Go?
@Chris Breese I took one of the filtered guitar patch presets that had an impressive Synth sound and reassigned the amps/cabs with bass IR's. I've ~3 versions I tried out and initially set up in POD Go Edit (desktop), then sent as B library presets and fine tuned on the unit. Stacked filters get it done and you still have the foot pedal Wah's to put on top so you can really dial it in. I've had lots of fun converting Guitar patches into Bass patches by changing the amp to a Bass IR.

I noticed that a lot of the effects for guitar apply the same for bass. As you mentioned change out the amp IR for a bass, and the same for the cabinet and your good to go.

I've been practicing to lots of D'Angelo tracks and needed filters and octaves and the flexibility and power of the Line6PodGo is fairly stupendous. I've zero lust for any pedals have almost no footstare, I just dial in a patch and move between snapshots.
Oh.. that's huge, ICYMI:
Be sure to check out Snapshots and make slight variations on a patch for different song sections.

Just got my pod go earlier this week, and honestly I am super satisfied (and amazed) how great it sounds with bass!
My fav amps on the pod so far are svt 4 pro and gallien krueger rb800 and I mostly use either svt810 cab or mesa 610 cab for bass. Also its great plus for me that this same device works also with guitar cause I like to doodle around wit guitar too. (With guitar I use mostly 5150 and jens bogren's ir)

Is there Line6 club in talkbass?
