Lo Rider Question

In a word, yes. The 65 would be the highest in tension, followed by the 45 and 80. The 100 would feel quite a bit looser compared to the 65.

I once tried the Nickel LRs 40-60-80-100, which felt not too bad. The middle two (D/A) are slightly tighter than the other two (G/E), but at least they're symmetrically-balanced.

I am probably better off with a medium gauge ( 1.05, .85, .65, .45)? I ask this because I use XL170's and they feel pretty even on tension.

I find the nickel LR to be somewhat tense than many others. Prob due to thicker core wire. But not so much to be off-putting. I used the nickels for years, and they quickly seemed “normal” to me. Lasted a pretty long time.
