My only beef with this guy is he doesn't know the difference between a P bass and a Jazz.

okay sorry. Ive owned several old Fender basses , but i still get the Jazz and the P mixed up. I just use the basses to lay down tracks, as I am a a unpublished songwriter and work in a home studio. I am primarily a guitarist, but I write songs. I have the utmost respect for Bass players. I never saw one guitarist in my life who could do the amazing job of a great bass player!
This bass was meant to be fun facsimile, but I see now that it could actually pass for a real 70's Fender! wow!

LOL
The 2 unwritten rules of TB:
1. The "Be Nice" rule goes out the window if posters are defending the virtues of Fender.
2. Any post that is not reverent of Fender = troll.

The ten commandments of Fender.

1. Thou shalt not be any copies of P and J basses before the almighty Fender.
2. Thou shalt not idolize any bass other than Fender.
3. Thou shalt not use Fender's name in vain on headstocks.
4. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's Jazz bass
etc...

Amen

I don't understand why, if one has little respect for Fender, they then want to try and fool people that their bass is a Fender...I'm confused...please explain.

yeah the red car deal(because that's exactly what occurs),being an autobody person for 30 years i've painted black cars red and red cars black(camaros for instance)=go figger

now about that geetar=i could care less what's on the headstock it's what's coming out of it(or better put=beat the pants off the girl!)

i fondled a LOT of basses since the first of the year and i find(found) it odd that some of the worst feeling necks were on Gennie Fenders and a couple Squiers were just killer,,,

i didn't realise people would get smelly panties over swapping a sticker on a bass:confused:,shee, put a Sadowsky on it,nobodies heard of them anyway right? and they are just `copies' anyway right? how about G-L another low life copycat outfit

ok i'll stop but?`sacred' Fenders??,,i thought the world was anal about all the ModernBass's and anyone with a Fender was a dinosaur:confused:,,,,,,just play the d--- thing:bassist:

Really. And would this "red car"....VW, or whatever, also be getting a new Corvette badge?
I'm pretty sure the OP said he was trying to fool the audience. Trying to gain credibility with a fake.
I don't care, really. To me, he would be a flake, and his bass a fake. Sorta' poetic.
it would not be something i'd waste any time on,but as long as no one gets hurt, who cares....me'thinks the op has an off beat sense of humor, and folks are getting all bent for nought.....

I have nothing against Fender copies, I play two Warmoth basses myself, but seeing someone stick a Fender logo on something that was not made by Fender just bugs the hell out of me because it's illogical. It's a stupid and pointless thing to do.

Pretty much anything that is illogical, unintelligent, or unreasonably random just bugs the hell out of me.
I have a tendency to become enraged by small details that are incorrect.

My Mother says that when I was a kid, she would read me this children's book that had a picture of a bunch of animals or something watching a TV, but I went nuts every time I saw it because the TV was unplugged in the illustration. Once day she drew in the power cord to correct it, and then I was totally fine.:hyper:

I guess it depends how OCD you get about things.
