It's a Yamaha, but I don't know the model. This is the only bass I see he used from the pics, so he may not have used the MM Jazz.
That's definitely a Yamaha BB of some type. Unless it's an older, it's not a production model that I know of.
It looks to have the P+J of the current BB line, but with the BassBucker at the neck from the new Billy Shehan BB714 and the control plate from a Stingray and maybe a badass bridge. Geez if Yamaha would produce that beast I'd grab up one of those in a heartbeat! 
On the topic of the Pride and Glory, I tried to find a replacement copy of it but was continually told that it was now out of print.

He definately had the Marcus Miller when I saw him. I'd recognize the pick-guard anyday. Plus it had that Fender headstock you could identify a mile away (though I was more like fifty feet). He wasn't using that Yamaha.
I've wondered for a while how good the Miller Sig would work in a metal/progressive setting. Glad to hear that some on this thread have had good luck with it in that setting, and to hear that Lomenzo has used one in the Megadeth context. May have to pick one up at some point.

After seeing those pics, I was wondering why James was playing a tricked out Yammie when he's known for playing Warwicks. Found out that as of January 25, 08 he joined up with Yamaha.

James is an awesome player. His work with P&G (one of the best albums I have heard) and Hideous Sun Demons is simply amazing.
James is very much from the Entwistle "school-of-thought" with his equipment and style.
If you haven't seen him live, it's definately an experience! Extremely solid player.

I met him over a year and a half ago, and we had a brief chat. I wasn't sure it was really him at first. So I was a bit awkward and dorky, but then we got to talking. Obviously he's a good musician, but I was really impressed how he dealt with other people. I was just someone he'd never met before and would probably never meet again, but he made me feel important for that brief moment in time. So definitely much respect. (And I'll always think of him as the White Lion guy because that's when I first heard him.)
