Long gig. Would you do it?

I understood the 750 to be per person. Still seems little when you're thinking about taxing, gas and splitting the rest per working hour, physical fatigue, potentially to the extend of physical damage.

Anways... a gig like that would need a well advised contract specifying breaks, infrastructure (sunshade, roof over stage?, tedicated tend for breaks?), provided backline according to your rider, watersupply etc. on stage,... and higher payment.

Did the person that got your band that gig cover details when negotiating with the client? What's your band's point of view? Are they in for a marathon? Are they prepared for it? What kind of drugs are they counting on to work thru a 12h gig?

dunno that's rough---maybe with 4 or 5 half hr/hour breaks...and $500 a head, ontop of the food/hotel---the drive and gas is bad enuf with this inflation..Are the other members much younger than you? If you been doing it so long i'm assuming they're "spring chickens" so to speak..I'm in my late 50's, i could possibly do it as long as i could recoup some energy in between and tend my achy fingertips.. I see alot of artists literally "working out" in between long sets backstage, from calisthenics and yoga...lol

No. Never. And I'm nowhere near you age. Don't do it if you have even the slightest concern about it. And even if you had felt ok about the number of songs the pay is an insult.

If this is the Elvis Fest at the Wayne County Fairgrounds, I’ll be able to hear you playing, unless you don’t do the gig, because I live in that neighborhood.
I tried to check the weather for the dates, July 8 & 9, but I didn’t find any forecasts. The heat has been on and off, but when it has been hot, the humidity is crazy. To play that many songs if it is in the high 80s or 90s would be too much for me (64), although I think I would love playing under other more comfortable conditions. Plus, if they have the bands in the large show barn………!!!!!!………the heat would be stifling and remnant smells of farm animals would be overwhelming.

found a forecast: 90, 91, 25% rain Friday, 50% rain Saturday, so will be humid.

Who the heck comes up with a gig like this thinking any band will want to play a 12 hour set. Maybe if I was in my 20's and was really hungry for $, but no way now. It's probably not even minimum wage once you factor in the travel time and expense.

...165 songs on Saturday. Its a day long event Saturday from 11am to 11 pm.
That's close to 9.625 hours of music with no break! And cramming them in one after the other with no stopping. Would I work 12 hours with appropriate breaks? Absolutely (one day of that won't kill me). But that many songs in those 12 hours? Not a chance. Especially not for $750! Man, once you factor in the Friday and Saturday hours and your gas - this is a hard pass for me.
