Long Scale Piccolo Strings

A Dingwall 4 string? For more choice in gauges: Link Removed. There are also piccolo sets for 5 strings and 3 string length options for 34-35", 36-37" and 39-40" scales. Check your scale lengths and look at the string measurements here: Link Removed

On a Dingwall fan these 'balanced' sets will have a slight fall in tension from low to high, which is actually ideal for a piccolo set and has many advantages: it helps with tapping, chords, equal pitch response to string bending, helps to mellow the sound of the plains and brighten the sound of the lower strings for a better tone blend ... etc.

Good advice from ilxramp. I'll add that the scale length of our Fender style basses goes from 32"-34.25". All of our other models go from 34" to 36.25". (2" difference). Keep that in mind when looking for strings. Most string manufactures don't quote scale length, they quote ball to taper length which is longer and includes about an inch of unuseable area next to the ball.
