Look how hard he play...

Flea is one of the most over-rated bassist of our times. His melodic lines are best, his slap is sloppy, obnoxious, and out of place. I like RHCP, but all you wannabe flea's ruined it for me. I can't listen to a RHCP without hearing your ****ty renditions of it.

Umm... well, no one needs your permission to play RHCP tunes. If you let beginning players ruin RHCP for you then that's your fault not theirs.

Well, I have to use 3 fingers to play stuff like Parallel Universe (and even then I usually break out during the last parts. 4 minutes of contstant speed are hell.... And some people can do so for way longer)
Hhe doesn't really NEED to get faster. It's not as if RHCP is playing Death Metal or something. And junky... I'm using proper technique (thanks to lessons) and still can't do the things he does...
You do know recorded Parallel universe with a pick, right? That's okay, I didn't know it back then, either, when I played it with my cover band. :D

I also managed to pull it off with my three-finger technique, but I had to practise regularly or I'd run out of stamina near the end of the song.

I also think digging in as hard as he does isn't that difficult, by the way, all you have to do is apply some pressure in the direction of the string below the one you're playing, it really isn't that complicated. Remember that his "By the way" line is laden with hammer ons, so you do have time to punish those strings.

Flea also digs in really hard on some songs on One Hot Minute.
